I haven't been on the list in a LONG time, just putting along with my 365XD
24/810 with even the IBM Home and Away 14.4k modem/ethernet card working
just fine. Time has come, upgrade or die.

Ram I think is sorted out, buy a 32 MB SO Dimm 3.3v EDO 42H2769 or better a
Kingston KTM760ELD32, and sell the 16 MB thats in it.

Hard Drive has me a bit confused, IBM is telling me only the original
options should be used, ie 810 mb (what I have now) and 1.08 GB. That
stinks if true, as several local places have TravelStar 4.3 GB drives for
less than $90. What looks most tempting at about $45 is IBM Travelstar
2110MB (2.1GB) IDE Hard Drive Model # DCRA-22110. The higher capacity
Travelstar is 9.5 mm, the smaller is 17 mm. Neither have IBM carriers, but
I am guessing I can reuse my old one. Can I be sure its going to fit/work
before installing it?

What is a good way to back up my hard drive? I have a working 10bt ethernet
network at home, right now all Mac, but soon to have a couple PCs (W95
various *nix) on it. Ideally I would like to backup over the network and
burn a CDR so I could just pop the CDR into the 365XD and restore. I also
have the little adapter that converts a laptop drive into a normal IDE that
can plug into a desktop PC. One store suggested I use that and a program
called "drivecopy". Thanks for any help.
