OS/2 on a Thinkpad

I am not sure if there is a specific group or list that deals strictly
with OS/2 on a Thinkpad, but I thought I might start here and see if I get
a pointer or a FAQ.

Lacking another place, I hope its okay to ask the questions in this forum.

I have used OS/2 exclusively since v2.1, but my 760E came with Win98 so I
left it on, but its starting to get on my nerves, and I am ready to set up
the boot manager and work on getting OS/2 installed.

Got all the files, and read the Notebook/2 site, and observed the obvious,
that basically I should just do a simple install first, and then add the
video, audio, etc after its up and running. That is the only way to
install anything, IMO :)

I used Partition Magic v 3.0 to move the Fat32 partition around to make
room for boot manager and an HPFS partition for Warp. The first thing I
realized was that Boot Manager (the one from Warp) has no idea what FAT32
is, so it did not assign it a drive letter in the setup, hence I could
only make OS/2 a primary C partition, when I want it on an extended
logical, with a drive letter D. As I write this I am wondering if the BM
on Partition Magic might understand the Fat32?

Anyway, I went ahead and made it a primary C, and started the install,
when I got a message saying that the mouse device wasn't working? The
mouse in question is the trackpoint on the keyboard. My 760E is the thin
one, and needs to be on the docking station for the CD. I took it off,
plugged in a PS/2 mouse, and ran the install as far as I could till it
needed the CD, and did not get the mouse error. Problem is, the mouse
won't plug in when its on the dock station as the eject tab 'thingy' is in
the way, and even if I get it to install with an external mouse, I still
need to be using the trackpoint :(

Is the trackpoint button a real PS/2 mouse, or is there something I need
to do to get the OS/2 install to see it?

Thanks for the space here, and if I should be elsewhere asking these
questions, just let me know.

Best Regards,

John
