It would be easier and cheaper if you could just borrow a network PCCard from
another laptop and use it briefly to connect the 760 to a CD-ROM drive shared
on another system. Alternatively, you could use direct cable connection to
hook it up to another system with a CD-ROM drive. That requires a special
'null-modem' cable which you may not have, but is a lot cheaper than buying a
new CD drive for the 760.
