are there carbus types?

I have a 600 model 2645-41a. the specs at ibm say that the machine
supports "cardbus 32-bit". on the basis of that statement I am
thinking of buying a 'Linksys etherfast 10/100 integrated cardbus pc
card' model pcm200.

I hate to be paranoid, but I don't want to buy something I can't use.
So the question is: are there various types/versions of cardbus I
should be aware of, or is cardbus just cardbus is cardbus, and I
should just buy the stupid card?
