Interestingly, I am in the same boat as you. I'm writing this on a 1451i,
which
had its screen replaced more than a year ago for the pink-screen problem, and
just lately I've been noticing some flickering.
I think it's related to screen brightness. If I take the brightness all
the way
down I don't think I get much flickering at all, if any. Also, it seems to
come
and go.
At this point I'm not sure what the problem is, but I more suspect the power
supply for the backlight display, if in fact my turning the brightness down
does
really help stop it. If it is a power supply problem, rest assured that
we'll both
have dead screens eventually. (sigh)
I think this is going to be one of the longer term waeknesses in the i Series
units, display flicker. My 1480i seems to have avoided this, so hopefully it
doesn't affect all units.
