Thanks for all the help with the 760C and loading new software.

It turns out that it is a Dock II (from the part number that one of
you sent), and that it is just waiting for an SCSI CD to be hooked up.
We'll probably order one of those. However, when I wrote the original
message I didn't realize that it was hooked up to the net. It does
all of its FedEx and UPS business over a PCMCIA modem in the dock, and
"everyone" thought that that was its only connection to the outside
world. As it turns out we were able to just share the CD drive on
another Windows machine and install the software using that. Luckily,
the 760C was able to "see the network" and the other machine's drive
in Network Neighborhood, because the other machine couldn't see the
network at all (it's a UNIX place, and Windows support is...hmmmm :-).
