Since the subject has come up (in a thread on the A21), I need some advice -
I'm in the market for a
network/modem combo card (to free up a pcmcia slot for other devices), but
haven't seen any in the few local
shops that meet all my needs. Here's what I want: (1) 10/100 ethernet + 56k
modem, preferably cardbus;
(2) Modem should be a non-win modem, and 'global class' (recognize non-US dial
tones etc); (3) must give
access to the second pcmcia slot (and a flat cable emerging from the center of
its end) when in use;
(4) I must be able to close the pcmcia door on my 560X when the card is
inserted (but cable disconnected)
for carrying - I suppose this means a dongle instead of xjack etc.

Does anyone know which (if any) cards meet these requirements? The least
important requirement is cardbus
most important are (3) and (4).

This is the problem with online research: specs are easy to find but it is
really hard to figure out how these cards
will actually fit on my machine!

Thanks,
David R.
