Dear Lorita, ;-)

Richard Chalk (rchalk_at_speakeasy.org) wrote that PartitionMagic had this
capability and, after letting the hamster turn the wheel a few more times, I've
come to the conclusion that he's right!
Richard wrote: "Third, it is possible to run two different operating systems
starting with recovery CDs. You do need a program like Partition Magic, which
will allow you to create more than one Primary Partition, and select which is
active. You can then install the recovery disk, using the "leave existing
partitions and format C only" option, then change active partitions and do the
same thing with the second CD. Then you activate Boot Magic, which comes with
Partition Magic, to select which you want to start."
I'm going to try this later tonight or tomorrow with PM 6.0, both on a single
drive and on dual drives, just to see what happens.
WRT the dual boot topic we've been kicking around on the Forum, I've already
setup W2K from a recovery CD and loaded a retail copy of W2K to dual partitions
on a single drive _and_ to dual 6.4GB drives with no problem. W2K even loaded
the boot manager when I installed to the D: drive or partition.
I was just getting ready to post my results to the Forum when I read Richard's
post. Using his method would be a much more elegant way to resolve Joel's dual
boot problem, so I'll hold off posting until I get a chance to experiment.

Don't worry Lorita, we all know who the real birdbrain is on your end!
