My friend has a Thinkpad running NT4.0. Sorry, I don't have the model
number. All of a sudden it won't boot. Rather it displays a crude graphic of
the floppy drive with the function keys displayed below. Arrows are blinking
pointing to the F1 key and the Floppy Drive. I was able run some sort of
System Diagonistic by pushing the Esc key while booting. The system board
tests OK, the memory test will not complete and the HDD1 test returns some
messages in red. My only theory on how it occurred is we had a power
outtage while it was plugged in, but it is attached to a surge protector so
I'm a little confused. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
