This is a ThinkPad graphic indicating that the system can't find a bootable
drive/device. It wants you to put a bootable floppy disk in the A: drive and
reboot. What you need to do is determine why the system doesn't recognize the
(presumably still present) hard disk drive. I guess the first step is to
check the BIOS boot order to see if the main HD is still in the boot sequence.
 If it is, then perhaps you should remove and re-seat the HD (if it is a
removable model). If that still doesn't help, then research the error codes
being generated by the BIOS test to see what they mean. Could be a
catastrophic HD failure, or a corruption of the boot sector or system files on
the C: drive.

If the computer isn't too old, perhaps it is still covered under warranty.
