Subject: 770Z HD Upgrade Options ?
I want to upgrade my 14 GB to a 20 GB or larger HD. While web shopping I noticed many of the HD offerings for the 770 series exclude support for the 770Z, Anyone know why ? I purchased a 20 GB drive that was supposed to work with all 770 series machines, but it failed the POST HDD-1 diagnostic test, and the drive could not be found by fdisk ( no local hard drive found). Don't know if it was a bad drive or just incompatible with the 770Z.
Any success stories of upgrading a 770Z to a 20GB drive or better would be appreciated, specifically:
- which HD manufacturer & model #
- where it was purchased
- any bios mods needed
- other relevant data
Thanks,
Jim Gillepsie
