770 = 14.1", 600 = 13.3". I thought the 13.3" was going to be a problem, but it turned out to be fine, and a worthy compromise for how portable it made the machine (important for me, as I carried it everywhere). If you're planning on watching DVD's on the LCD screen, I guess this would be a big factor for you, but I wouldn't recommend watching DVD's on LCD screens anyway. They look awful, in my opinion.

Both screens were sharp, clear and bright, in my opinion. I think I had a stuck pixel on my 600X, but none have ever cropped up on my 770ED.

Both machines were limited to 1024x768, even hooked up to an external monitor, unfortunately.
