The built-in modem in my 570 sometimes appears to hang. Specifically, when
I try to run a program which uses it, the modem won't work. Often I'll
get an error message to the effect that "port in use." No other program
will be using the modem, and I can't find any way to restore the modem
other than rebooting. I'm running Win2000, btw.
Any idea how to fix this? Is there any way to reboot the modem without
rebooting the machine?
Alternatively, any suggestion for a modem/ethernet card? Would I get
better performance or better fax compatibility with a pc-card (the modem
occasionally refuses to connect to fax machines)?
