Problem With Standby on NewA21P (Win 2K)

I just got a new TP A21P (2629-HWU), and have been very impressed with
it. This is my first experience with Win
2K. I have heard how good its power management is, so I was very
surprised when after a day of installing
applications, I find that it can no longer go into standby.

I get the message "Preparing Standby...", and the machine locks up in
that state. I have tried using task manager to
remove tasks that I may have added, but it did not help. I should have
made a list of all the Task Manager tasks
before I added any applications, but I neglected to do that.

I really don't want to start removing apps one at a time, and even if I
do, it may not help.

Any advice on how to fix my new toy would be very much appreciated.
