I'm new to the list, and I'm wondering if a problem I have with my TP is a
common one.
I bought the machine used, and I have never been able to get the PCMCIA
slot to work with a memory card. (It works fine with a modem.)
OS is Windows (natch)-- 98 currently, but it had the same problem under
95. On inserting the card, the plug-n-play stuff kicks in to install the
standard hard drive driver. After that, the machine makes that "oops"
sound, and a look through the hardware manager tells me nothing more than
that it ain't working.
Has anyone else had this difficulty? I apologize if it's been addressed
here before, but I couldn't find an effective way to search the archives.
