You could try calling IBM and whingeing about your poor, dead, battery. There
was a selective, non-advertised recall of 600 and 600E batteries a while back
that would get you a new one without a lot of difficulty. But this was on NEW
batteries that died within a few months.
If only the 3 year warranty applied to batteries!
