I have a 770E still running the factory Win95 OSR2 with the USB
supplement. I recently added drivers for a SanDisk ImageMate SmartMedia
reader, which is now working. Last night I booted with my SCSI Adatpec
1460B installed in order to do a tape backup, and the system hangs
during boot if the card is in and connected to powered on external
devices.

If I plug the card in with the system already up it goes non-responsive
and a CAD shows Msgsrv32 Not Responding.

I tried a logged boot, and the last message says something like "Initing
sparrow.mpd" which is part of the Adaptec drivers.

I have a second drive with an older copy of the system ( before SanDisk
USB ) and that one boots fine with SCSI or not.

Any clues ?
