Hi again,
I have removed Windows 2000, at least for the time being & done a fresh
install of WIN 98SE, all is well, except I am having trouble getting WIN98 to
find an audio device. I have no hardware or drivers shown.
Could someone who has a 240 running WIN 98 please look at there device
manager & tell me what drivers & hardware they are using?
I am sure eventually I could sort it out, but if someone has the info it
would be a big help.
Incidentally, I went to IBM website to check warranty status of the 240X, it
was purchased on 8-JAN-2001 & IBM showed it expired on 14-JUL-2001!!!
Needless to say I was none to pleased, but IBM has to their credit sorted it
out. They also sent me a loaner CD ROM to reload the OS, kudos to them. The
computer was purchased from Insight.com, they said it was an unusual
instance, but to be safe I recommend if you purchased a Thinkpad from them or
indeed anyone, check the warranty is correct before you need it.
Cheers,
Jim.
