So far I have not even been able to get a 600 modem working in ME, so I

I upgraded my 600E to W2K and the modem performance stinks. I've
cruised around on IBM's site and this seems to be a known issue, and
there doesn't appear to be a solid solution. Is there a fix for this?
If not, I'm going to have to go back to Windows 98 (it's *that*
slow!).
