I seem to have hosed my PCMCIA support on my 560X in W95 OSR2. What
happened was that
I decided to install a new 3com lan/modem card. Several attempts
failed, in each case the installation program reported that I needed to
install the MS pccard/QFE update patch. Finally I gave in like an idiot
and applied this patch, now windows can no longer see my pcmcia hardware
(shows up with exclamation points in system/devices, and I get a "PCMCIA
Support is not installed" error popup).
When I first installed the OS there was a special pccard update fix that
I downloaded from IBM;
I tried this again, and it didn't help.
I've tried several variations of removing the hardware from the device
manager, running the pccard wizard, etc, and nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions short of a full OS reinstall?
