It shouldn't be *exactly* the same problem, unless the 760EL has the same
cardbus controllers as the 560X
(does the 760EL even have cardbus?). However, I have to say that I am so far
underwhelmed by this card.
(Though it seems to work well as a modem, when it works at all. I can't get
the lan part working right yet.)

Some of this does seem to be a problem with IBM's choice of cardbus
controller - the thinkpad support website
has quite a few tech docs on getting various cardbus devices working on the
560X et al; many of these docs include
phrases like "not possible with the 560X cardbus implementation".

And all along I thought I was being boneheaded. I had all of the same
problems trying to use that card with a 760EL. I even upgraded to Win98 but
still with very limited success. I have given up and gone back to a very
reliable IBM 56K card. Now, with your notes I may try it again
