So I'm thinking of upgrading my T21 to Windows 2000. I'm currently
running Windows 98SE, and have a DVD module for the Ultrabay.
I made up a checklist of things that I may need to worry about, and
one thing came up as a potential problem. The DVD decoder software. IBM's
site only lists an upgrade for the software, and not the full version.
And just to make things that much difficult, I also don't have the
original CDs that come with the unit. My company's IT department doesn't
give anything, for fear that people will mess with things. However, since
I'm now in a department that has exemption from their rules, they don't
care that I'll be installing it, but they won't exactly help. ;-)
Will I be okay if I try the upgrade, or is there another source for the
software?
Thanks!
