Off the top of my head, probably a Parity error. They have to be 70ns DIMMs.
IIRC, I've used Compaq labeled DIMMs with success, but they were re-labeled
Kingston's and matching the Kingston part no. on their website showed that they
were exactly the same as the IBM ones.
