not only CAN a serial number in coms be changed, i always used to do that
with my personal machines..
i insert my name and sometimes my tel#..
its easy if you know how its done..
which i won't relate here, obviously.. :-)

as fas as ebay sellers go, there are some REAL obvious crooks there..
and no way to warn the stupid buyers to be careful..

if a seller won't give a buyer the entire serial number before payment has
been made, don't make payment..
request a picture of the label on the bottom of the machine..
most have digital cameras now..
no picture, no sale..!
