Bill,
If you had the serial number what do you do with it -how and where does one
check up on a particular serial number?
Hard to believe that someone would have a $1,000+ tp and not know about
warranties and serial numbers (and passwords) etc.
BTW, my old 701's serial number sticker became unreadable while it was still
under warranty but IBM had me on file and found the number when I had my hard
disk fail -I purchased it new directly from IBM.
