I was referring to the standard ThinkPad external floppy drive, not to an
USB model. I'm not familiar with the X20, but all the other ThinkPads with
no built-in floppy drive that I know of (eg. 701, 560, 570, 600) have a
connector for the external floppy drive that is on the ThinkPad itself (no
need for an optional expansion unit). Do you really need the Ultrabase in
order to be able to use the external floppy drive with the X20?

I think $30-40 is the going rate for external ThinkPad floppy drives (with
matching cable) on eBay.

OK, I was under the impression the 240's (including the X-model) was
heavily discounted some time ago, and I thought the X20 was more
expensive.
