I recently picked up a 760EL that they were getting rid of at work. The
760EL does not have the power supply that plugs into the laptop but it does
have the Dock 1 with a CD-ROM. I was told the battery was no good so I
bought a new one.
When I put the new battery in and connected to the Dock 1 the little orange
light on the top back of the laptop is on (which the manual says means its
charging) but the battery indicator always shows 0%.
The laptop works fine when plugged into the Dock 1 it just won't charge the
battery.
Should it charge from the Dock 1 or must I have the power supply for the
laptop itself?
If it should be charging from the Dock 1, how do I determine what's wrong?
If the laptop isn't charging the battery, might it run from the battery if
the battery is already charged. In this case, are there external battery
chargers available?
Thanks for any help!
Rich
