I don't think there are any ThinkPads that can't be upgraded. I do know that
all the i Series 14xx machines can be upgraded; someone else on the list
who has a 1480i sent me mail about his upgrade, since i had one as well.
I have a 1451i (using it to write this) which can be upgraded--I've seen
descriptions on usenet about it.
Just where the disk is on my 1451i, I can't say--I haven't had a digging
session into my machine yet. I'll bet that you get to it from the bottom
however, and have to take a fair amount of stuff off to get to it, as it isn't
designed for frequent changes.
I have, somewhere, a PDF from ibm about disk replacement proceedures
for my 1451i. If you can't find anything on your 1452i, let me know and I'll
dig up what I have. I'm pretty sure that my 1451i is very very close to what
you have.
