It should, yes.

I found this happening a lot with the 20-some 760XLs that I was
responsible for as part of a job I had a year or so ago. The only way I
could get the batteries to hit 100% was to run the systems on battery
just long enough for it to drop one more percentage point to 98%, then
plug them back in. Within minutes, it was to 100% and I could sleep
better. :-)

I think so. It think it just means that the power adapter is plugged in.
I haven't used one of these for many months, but I believe it's green
when the power is plugged in and the battery is fully charged, and turns
amber when the battery is charging. I think that's it, anyway.

If I recall correctly, it's under a copper-looking flap under the hard
drive, under the keyboard. Keep lifting stuff up and you'll find it.
The hard drive is in the lower-right corner of the computer under the
keyboard.
