The advice on the 770 is correct. The model "770ED" had internal hardware
acceleration on the DVD drive. It would play almost anything thrown at
it. It is rugged and well put together. You might even find one with some
or most of the warrantee remaining. It is HEAVY! However there is a whole
world of extra stuff to make this machine work better. There are add on
zip drives, cdrw's, extra batteries that all fit the internal bay. You can
use two batteries in the unit and get something like 6 to 8 "real" hours of
working time.

I own one and it is now in use by one of my boys for school. Great piece
of kit, highly recommended.
