My frustrating experience with a 3Com warrantee repair was very like the
ones Steve C. describes - I detailed it
here recently, so won't repeat it, except to say that it involved lots of
long phone queues, astonishingly
dim people in their customer service department, some overt lies, and a wait
of several weeks for the replacement
card. Perhaps your service did not involve an actual hardware failure; my
card gradually
died after just a few weeks of moderate use, the only PC card I've ever
owned that actually failed. It was never a
very good modem to begin with, moreover had known (but undisclosed) and
unresolvable incompatibilites with
some Thinkpads under W95. (This is the 3Com Global 10-100+56K cardbus card,
BTW.)
