Yes, you can..
most any round barrel type power source for recent thinkpads will work..
given the circuimstances, a small piece of DUCT TAPE to hold the connector
in the 701C might be in order.. :-)
and, yes, as long as the power source does not fall too low.. like 10 or 11
VDC..
