I recently picked up a 755C(heap) just for one particular use. Not
surprisingly, the battery wouldn't hold a charge. Since then I've picked up
a half dozen batteries at prices from $2 to $29 each. None will take any
charge at all. I didn't really expect the two-dollar batteries to work, but
the $29 units were from a "reputable" dealer. I'm starting to think there
might be a problem with the ThinkPad, not ALL those batteries. They never
show a charge above 0%.
Not having an owner's manual, I'm flying blind here. I am under the
impression that simply installing the battery, making sure the switch is
set to the "|" position, and plugging the ThinkPad into the wall is all
that I should have to do.
I'd certainly appreciate if someone could advise me if I'm missing
something. If my procedure is correct, any ideas of possible problems with
the ThinkPad itself?
(Searching the digest archives were a painful, prolonged process. I hate to
ask someone to re-invent the wheel, but....)
