Bruce..
boy THAT sure seems a bit extreme..
and i wonder at the venue question..
but
ibm usually bends over (in either direction) to please customers..
the DFT test, while not perfect, is a good place to start..

i sold a bunch of 32gig drives and only had one bad one..
got several complaints which were due to operator error and not drive
failure..
the one drive failure was in amsterdam and IBM replaced the drive, directly,
there..
the 32gig seems to be a strong drive..
i expect the 48gig will be strong, as well..

i always try for honey rather than threats to achieve my aims when dealing
with IBM..

aside from the occasional dum-bass (a stupid fish<g>) most all IBM help line
people are super..

let us all remember, times are a bit tough for all right now and avoiding a
needless drive swap saves $$..
(i have been THERE, too, where a customer sent me a (bad, per DELL tech
support) drive i'm still using in my T21)
