Forget the Apple Cinema Display. Getting it to work with a PC is next to
impossible. If you do, getting a video card to drive this in a PC is near
impossible. I know, I bought one, and tried.

In the alternative, the Viewsonic VP230MB is a perfect alternative. 23.1"
1600x1200 DVI/VGA inputs. Awesome monitor that can be plugged directly into
the DVI port of the dock if you have an A2Xp series (A20p/A21p/A22p). It
even works with the port replicator. I have this monitor, and its simply
AWESOME. I use it with an ATI Radeon All-In Wonder and watch TV in a nice
size screen while I work. I have connected it to my Thinkpad dock
originally, and it does work nicely. 1600x1200 on a 23" flat panel sure
beats the same resolution on an A21p!!

Street price is about $4500, but in very short supply. Be prepared to wait
to get one. Supposedly CompUSA online shows them in stock, but I've never
checked. Other alternatives are the Samsung 21" 210T or the 24" 240T, both
on display at CompUSA. Very nice, but pricey, about $3,800 for the 210T and
$6,000 for the 240T. I think the resolution on the 240T is 1920x1200 and the
210t is 1600x1200. All three of these monitors blow away the apple cinema
display in my opinion.
