Well, what I do is put all the drivers and patches onto a CD-R and keep it
in my reinstall kit. When I find new drivers, I make a new CD and trash the
old one. Quite often, I'll also use the CD to make a backup copy of some
applications that don't take up much space. This way all I need is my OS
CD, my Office Suite CD and what I call my "Recovery" CD. I keep these all
together in one place and it works great. Like I said in another thread, I
usually do a clean install every 6 months or so. Probably not practical in
a office setting, but it does a couple things. First, I back up all my work
more than I probably would, and second I clean up Bill Gates poor job making
an Operating System. My system runs smooth all the time and I have very
little issues.

|100% agree. This is especially a problem with software that has been
|patched a
|few times - not every company does a good job of maintaining a
|complete/historical
|line of patches at their website.
