Ok, I put a 256 Mb SODIMM (PC100/PC133) in my Thinkpad 600e (2645, 55U,
using the latest BIOS update). The laptop is *seeing* the memory, but not
using it. By that, I mean that, when I run diagnostics, the memory is
detected and reported as "installed" (but not "ok", like the other module),
but it's not acknowledged as the machine boots normally.
I've got 128 Mb in the other memory slot, and that's working fine. Swapping
the two modules doesn't do me any good (I still get the 160 Mb total when it
boots). This *should* work, right? Any clues about how I get the thing to
recognize the new memory?
Annoying...I'd say.
Thanks.
