I don't see how dvdexpress could cause this. I
have the same card in a 770X and have no problem.
Since the problem happens during boot, I wonder if
it could be something else. Did you try removing
the card to ensure that you can still boot? Did
you visit the Thinkpad website to ensure that you
have the most updated bios and drivers? Do you
have any specific information about where in the
boot sequence it freezes?
