James' info is good, but the real pack rats like me have another option.
Most of us will remember the 5.25" floppy - but who remembers the carrying
cases made of hard plastic, big enough to hold 10 disks? They make PERFECT
hard-case holders for these devices.
I have two in mine - the CDRW and a spare battery. Each device is in a
bubble-wrap sleeve for protection from the other. They just fit in, and,
they are very durable.
Mine is called a "Color Coder" library case. It looks like a book. I don't
think you can buy them in stores any more, but they may turn up at computer
fairs, or, in the basement computer collections of pack rats like me!

They're made by Port and are available either directly from them
or through
several retailers. The "trick" is that Port calls them pouches,
not cases.
The flip open IBM case is P/N TL61000. Although it's not on
their website, it
can be ordered from Port at 800 852-5884 for approx. $20 IIRC.
The other cases have zippers and are: 610BLK and 640BLK and are
available on
www.port.com. Searching www.shopper.com or www.pricewatch.com
you'll find them
discounted by several vendors.
