Dear Friends with IBM ThankPads,
Greetings from Eastern Europe!
I need help. I myself just replaced the bad CMOS batteries in our two 760EL
ThinkPads. After restarting the systems, I changed the time and date as usual.
Now, the systems hang during the bootup and go into suspend mode which can NOT
be deactivated. I have to remove the battery to shut power down, and every time
I reboot the same problem happens.
I checked my Users Manual. Nothing which helps.
I also checked the IBM Online service system. Nothing helps me there also.
I just downloaded the latest BIOS update for my units and it still hangs before
installing it.
BTW, they both worked well before the CMOS battery replacement except from
needing to reset the dates & times occasionally.
If there is any way of rebooting the systems without having them go into suspend
mode please let us know asap.
Thanks for your time & response to this important request for help!
