One need only replace "HP" with "IBM" or "Thinkpad" for this article to be very
topical to the list.
As a subscriber to MSDN I'm not really effected by this latest decision by M$ to
limit, if not make impossible, the receipt of recovery CDs from the various
manufacturers. But on general principle, if I'm forced to pay the M$ tax when I
purchase a new Thinkpad, then by God I want a COMPLETE retail release of the OS
on CD!
When did having your OS on CD and also having it loaded on your computer
suddenly mean that you now have TWO copies of the OS????
That's the tack being taken by M$ as the excuse du jour for pressuring the
manufacturers to not ship recovery CDs with their systems!
Somebody in Redmond needs their Ritalin prescription renewed.
