Zips may have gotten better recently, but the "click of death" resulted
in a class action lawsuit against Iomega... I know I have lost a lot of
data in computers and musical samplers to the click of death and have
not used Zips for awhile

I have a CD-r drive on my thinkpad, but it is not really cost effective,
since
the data is about 50MB on each machine, and since I can't fill it
partially over
a CD-r and then easily read that on all the machines, I think I'll try
to make
it easier with a zip drive or something similar.

BTW, what about the reliability of the disks? I know I wouldn't trust
backups to
floppys anymore, but are the Zip disks reliable?

thanks in advance, again
