When it rains it pours sometimes. Not too long after I got my hands on
a PC card enabler to slap on the back of my 770's selectabase, I came
across a dutch auction on ebay for NIB Dock III's starting at thirty
bucks apiece. I figured "what the heck" and placed my bid.
Sure enough, it's NIB alright, and it is awfully nice to be able to use
PCI cards with my ThinkPad. (-: Especially a 10/100 PCI ether card.
The ThinkPad configuration program tells me the dock's IDE drive is currently
disabled -- anyone have the trick for re-enabling it, or will it magically
come on once I plug a drive in or do I need to pull my DVD drive out of the
TP's UltraBay before I'll have enough interrupts to do it?
I also noticed that the UltraBay in the dock seems not to be hot-swappable.
Is this the case? When I slide the ejector switch across in preparation to
eject, it starts feeping and I get the universal "Pay attention, dummy!" sign
in the LCD status panel.
