i did the cpu upgrade on a 700C i had, so MANY years ago..
from the 486/25 to the 486/50 blue beastie or whatever they called it, then
(i forgot)..
not much improvement, but it worked..! :-)
there should be a HMM manual someplace for that machine, on the IBM site..
that'll show you how its done..
at least you'll get a blow up picture showing all the parts and hidden
screws and hooks..
i recall some heat sink grease too.. :-)
