When you say crash, are we talking a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) or just that silly send an error report to his Billness?
Could we get a bit more on the machine overview? PII class? PIII class? P4 class?? AMD chips? C6502? ;)
First things I'd look to see if drive space. XP loves to eat drive space. It can pack away a full healthy 2gb without thinking about
dessert (aka MORE drive space). You might see if some of the programs you've installed have added anything destructive to
the autoexec.bat and config.sys which still reside on the C:\
What apps are dying? What apps are installed (if you wish to reveal that)?
