W95b [the last version] doesn't handle USB very well. If you force the issue,
you can use a usb zip on it [tp770ed, factory system load] by doing a little
fiddling with the install and ignoring the message that your USB h/w isn't
USB1.1 compatible. I think I got an HP scanner to work with W95b as well, but
that was some time ago. I ditched 95 in favor of 98 so I could use a USB
gamepad on my machine to play flight simulator [the most bug-free ms product
I've used].
