0. Bruce has a "sharp New York tongue", as I've heard it put before. A quick
google will show you that this is nothing new.
Now, back to the "problem" at hand:
Two possible assumptions:
1. Douglas is a thief. If so, at least he's on the other side of the planet
from most of us. Be wary when travelling with your thinkpad. Set a hard
drive password if not a supervisor password. However, the hard drive is
probably worth less than the machine in any case, so if he is a thief, he
could just replace it with a hard drive from a different laptop. I hear that
pirated copies of Windoze are easy to come by in that part of the world,
hologram and all.
Let's assume that he's not a thief:
2. Douglas' cousin should NEVER EVER take a trip to Singapore. Douglas'
cousin should probably avoid taking a trip to the PRC proper. I doubt that
the communists would treat a HK resident visiting red China who misbehaves as
gently as they'd treat a foreigner.
3. Douglas either needs to decide to have his cousin and or his cousin's
parents to pony up for a new hard drive, or chalk it up to not understanding
the concept of a PERSONAL computer.
