David,

I've had good experience with both MCI/Worldcom and Earthlink. Both have
POPs all over the world. Check out the lists at
http://www1.worldcom.com/global/about/network/pops/ and
http://support.earthlink.net/support/INCLUDES/accsnum/search.jsp?type=intl
to see if they have POPs wherever you're going. The one note with
Earthlink is that you HAVE to use their SMTP server when sending email -
they seem to filter out outgoing SMTP to any servers other than their
own. Although in your case you could send the email through the SSH tunnel.
