too many moving parts here with no sure starting point..
ASSUMING that you have a standard 760E series, with the 1.2gig, 17mm HDD,
then any larger capacity HDD you swap into the standard 760 HDD shell WON'T
work..
the computer is telling the HDD that there is another HDD which is drive
zero and the HDD you have is not finding it because it is not there, thus it
won't work..
WHY all this..??
the IDE spec was changed about this time and the newer IDE drives are
addressed as drive zero (master) when there is no jumper present where
formerly a jumper was needed.. (jumper, pins shorted, same thing)
