FWIW, I had a similiar problem with my old 760ED, however in my case, it was a bad
connector (actually, I had bad RAM, but by the time I sent it in to Kingston, they let
me exchange it for memory for my TP600E). There was one slot that would sometimes work, or not work at
all, causing problems with hibernation.
